Secret Society PGC is a legendary text and children's classic story, written by Slovenian writer Anton Ingolič in 1958. He was one of the first post-war authors, who, inspired by the real life of young people in that period of time, addressed their topical issues through depicting their unusual adventures. Thus many generations of children used to grow up along with the very popular and famous Society of Pingoclavulus - or shortened PGC. We are therefore quite excited to announce a modern interpretation of the Secret Society PGC, which is going to see the light of the day for a very first time on our stage as well.
staging will embark on an exploration of an »empty stage«, as a
starting point to stimulate the viewers' imagination and
simultaneously position the actors in the role of its (co)creators,
who will thus be expected to achieve maximum effects with minimum
effort. Diversity will be contributed to by songs and movement that
will co-create a variety of rogueries of the Secret Society in an
imaginative and playful manner. In addition to an exciting story,
interesting characters and an inherent comicality this production
will also offer to its viewers somewhat more serious topics. Thus
Mihec will not only tell us just another amusing and dynamic story of
a detective, who collects drawing pins, but also a story of valour,
courage and friendship.
Bulc is a stage director, who is also active as an actor, playwright,
author of dramatisations and an interdisciplinary artist. He has also
been intensively dedicating himself - especially in the last few
years -, to the shows for children and young people, to which he
wishes to approach in the spirit of experimentation, through
re-examining and modifying the conventional means of expression.
