Acqua Alta - Crossing the Mirror
When we look at a book through a tablet, the white pages turn into a scene of short stories, drawn in a simple black-and-white graphic drawing. Acqua Alta is a story of a woman, a man and a house within the routine of everyday life. On a wet rainy day, their lives turn upside down. Rising waters in the sea of ink drawn their home. A catastrophic accident pours into a story of loss and search. Acqua Alta is an experience at the intersection of theatre, dance, comics, animated film and video games.
A multidisciplinary artist, juggler and computer expert, Adrien Mondot, and artist, graphic designer and set designer, Claire Bardainne, have been working under the name Adrien M & Claire B since 2011. In their performances and interactive exhibitions, they combine the real and virtual world, with information technology, developed and adapted especially for them. They most often place at the centre of their artistic challenges the performer’s body, thus creating their timeless sensational visual lyricism with the tools of modern digitalisation.
