Catch me!
A comedy with running and singing designed for the youngest audience and directed by a versatile puppet artist Silvan Omerzu, features an artistically purified, musically inspiring, playful and dynamic work. A simple, modular stage assembly, with wooden puppets and props, unfolds before the viewers an exciting and - until the performance’s very ending - interesting competition between the two neighbours, who eventually become friends. Its witty text was contributed by the writer of the younger generation Saša Eržen, whose picture book »The One about the Fleas« ranked her among the five finalists for the Original Slovenian Picture Book Award.
In one of the shortest and most popular Slovenian folk tales a dog is chasing a rabbit for stealing his shoes, and yet he hasn't caught him to this day.  The tale inspired the contemporary stage version of the story about the dog and rabbit. In this story the dog and the rabbit are neighbours. And, as it is quite common between the neighbours, the two of them quarrel, compare and compete with each other all the time. They are different, all right! The dog is wearing sneakers, and the rabbit, on the other hand, is wearing shoes. The rabbit likes carrots and the dog likes sausages. One of them can hear better and the other one can smell better. But they have something in common too. They both like to run, chase and play. There is a tree growing between their houses. They both claim that it is theirs. Therefore they decide to compete for it in a running race. The result of the match is really surprising, as the friendship unexpectedly blossoms beneath the tree. And with friends we share the things we love …
