In 2021, the year of lockdowns, the high school students selected at the audition studied school as an institution. They were interested in the established school order and its effect on their growing up.

What is alright about school and what is not? What does it teach us beyond its set objectives? What happens outside the official curriculum? What do teachers do (sub)consciously and (un)intentionally? What goes on in hallways during breaks? What do we start taking for granted? Which values are promoted by schools and which values should be promoted instead? What kind of school do we strive towards and how can we change it?

Production: City of Women as part of the EU project BE PART and the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre as part of the EU project ConnectUpThe project is co-financed by the EU programme Creative Europe. Supported by: Creative Europe, Ministry of Public Administration.

Špela Čekada is a student at the Secondary School for Design and Photography in Ljubljana. She has been expressing herself through fine art, dance and film ever since she was little. She also does graphic and 3-D design and animation.

Petja Golec Horvat is a student at the Prva Gimnazija Maribor grammar school. She has a rather high take-off, occasionally laughs in inappropriate situations and loves the sound of rain. She likes theatre and is interested in movement, dance, falling down and burning holes in her pants. Her general mood is medium sad.

Neža Ana Goričar is a student at the Gimnazija Poljane grammar school and the Secondary Ballet School. She has a lock of grey hair which, of course, is natural. Her favourite moment is when the sun shines through the young leaves of beech trees. Her life goal is to find a life goal, as she is currently going through an existential crisis.

Tara Klemenčič Belšak likes good movies, a good night’s sleep and alone time. She is an art enthusiast, with a particular interest in film directing. She regularly cleanses her chakras. She likes school yet still needs to drink five hundred litres of coffee during exam periods.

Pika Kovač knows all the cartoons, Dalmatian music hits and three thousand Pi decimal digits by heart. She studies at the Gimnazija Vič grammar school, jumps in water, writes prose, keeps a diary and draws comics. She sleeps very little and dreams big. She plans to move to good old Jamaica.

Dominik Križ is a student at the Gimnazija Vič grammar school and does theatre and film acting. He is also a boy scout, singer, animator and writer, as well as retired archer and guitar player. His hobbies include running, hiking, mountaineering, playing chess, reading and watching movies.

Žak Može is a student at the Secondary Preschool Education, Grammar School and Performing Arts Grammar School in Ljubljana. He has ginger hair. He likes flora and fauna and appreciates creativity and goodness. His role-model (but unfortunately not his friend) is Adam Sandler. He gets through sad days with the thought of the approaching trip to the Gardaland amusement park.

Filip Perpar is a student at the Gimnazija Novo mesto grammar school. His interests are theatre and film, particularly acting. He enjoys singing, dance, photography and drawing. Cactuses and the colour yellow brighten up his life.

Ela Romih a.k.a. the stubborn young woman likes to listen to blues and TED Talks while cleaning (no cleaning goes well without it) and secretly takes photographs of passers-by who probably don’t want that.

Sinja Smokvina is a student of graphic design at the Secondary School for Design and Photography in Ljubljana. She likes to listen to old Yugoslavian popular music and the band Smrt boga in otrok. If you don’t find her at a café where she has been sipping her coffee for five hours, you will see her at a rock concert, dancing like a hip mum.
