Terror is first and foremost an image of absolute suffering.

The free individual, imprisoned in an indefinite space. A tumour in constant motion, in the limbo of our nightmares. The animator Antonin Lebrun enters the void, the puppet, and moves it. A horror takes place that conveys to us, in a masterful miniature, the humanity with which the puppet speaks to us about ourselves and our human existence. A gesture, a breath, a voice, reconstructed through the body of someone whose life has been taken. The performance evokes a mixture of empathy or even identification, bordering on discomfort, but above all an understanding of the horror experienced by the creature on stage. At the same time, it is funny, sad, compassionate and sensitively moving.

Les Yeux Creux has been developing productions in various genres since it was founded in Brest in 2010. Under the artistic direction of Antonin Lebrun, the company treats the puppet as a supra-individual that can make an impact through its mere presence as a being that imitates a human being, or through which people can recognise themselves and smile.
