Urška Hlebec

She is an actress, puppeteer, and also works as a screenwriter and director. She began her acting career at the amateur Tone Čufar Theatre in Jesenice, where she acted in nine plays from 1974 to 1986.

She graduated from the AGRFT in 1991 in drama, where she also received her master's degree in 2008 with the work Colombina, Arlecchino and other characters of commedia dell'arte. During her studies, she acted in five feature films (My Father, a Socialist Kulak, Donator, Operation Cartier, Đuka Begović, Morana). The most notable was My Father, a Socialist Kulak directed by Matjaž Klopčič, in which she played Olga. In Veljko Bulajić's film Donator in French, she played the leading female role of Juana Martinez. With Miran Zupanič, she made the film Operation Cartier based on the novel by Miha Mazzini and the film Đuka Begović by Branko Schmidt. In 1991, she starred in Aleš Verbič's film Moran. After a years-long film hiatus, in 2011, she played the main female character, Marica, in Andrej Košak's film Stanje šoka.

She began working with the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre as a guest in 1991. She became a permanent member of the LGL acting ensemble in 1994. In addition to acting roles, she also created two original plays at LGL: Fantkov dan (2001) and Hišica za punčke (2006). For the play Fantkov dan, she wrote the script, directed it, took care of the selection of music, and played the dragon. For the play Hišica za punčke, she wrote the script and directed it.

In addition to roles in theatre and film, she has created numerous characters in television shows and series for children. She hosted the children's show Zajček Dolgoušček in prijatelji for three years on commercial television. She starred in the series Kako sem videl svet izpod mize, Anica, Princ na belem konju, Duhec, etc., which were produced for national television. On commercial and national television, she played several supporting roles in series intended for adult audiences (Gorske sanje, Ena žlahtna štorija, etc.). She also recorded numerous nocturnes, radio dramas and song interpretations for national radio.
