BiTeater

BiTeater is a long-standing program of the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, which has partially changed its focus over the years, but has always been intended as a platform for young theatre artists, offering them opportunities for authorial development and creative creation.

Small format, big
creativity.

BiTeater productions are currently placing greater emphasis on the puppet medium—an art form we at LGL understand in its broadest, most imaginative sense. These performances continue to take shape as solo works or small-cast productions, each revolving around a young theatre artist as the primary creative force. This central figure often takes on multiple roles—as conceptual leader and, frequently, as performer—but this is by no means a requirement. BiTeater is a platform that supports emerging theatre artists as they venture into the world of puppetry, encouraging them to develop their own unique authorial voice—whether in directing, performing, visual or costume design, scenography, dramaturgy, or other forms of puppet-based expression.
