Maja Kunšič

In 2001, she completed her puppetry education at the Theatre and Puppet Studio under the auspices of the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre. Before that, she graduated in social pedagogy at the Faculty of Education, University of Ljubljana.

As an actress-animator at the LGL, she created more than fifty roles and in 2011 staged her first solo authorial project, All Different, All Strange.

She has received numerous awards, including the group award for animation in the play Vžigalnik at the International Puppet Festival Poletni pristan in Maribor, several domestic and international awards for the play Turlututu, and the award for best animation for the role of Mali in the play Medved in Mali, at the Biennale of Puppet Artists of Slovenia. At the International Puppet Theatre Festival PIF in Zagreb in 2023, she received the award for acting and animation creation for her role in the play Thumbelina, and at the International Children's Theatre Festival in Skopje in 2024, she received the award for music performance.

She has the status of a champion in her home theatre.

Since 2020, she has been performing in the play Moby Dick by the French-Norwegian group Plexus Polaire (co-production LGL), with which they tour all over the world.

For many years, she has performed as the puppet character Bober Bor in Studio Kriš kraš on TV Slovenia. She also lends her voice to various cartoon characters.
