Antipody

Antipody is a visual theatre performance at the intersection of physical theatre, puppetry, shadow play and live music. Three performers embark on a dreamlike journey towards their own opposites: an unusual landscape populated by miniature horses, travelling figures and shadow characters, running endlessly without a destination.

In this poetic world, symbols replace words and time loses its usual meaning. The performance unfolds through images, movement, rhythm and atmosphere, rather than through linear storytelling, creating a theatrical experience that hovers somewhere between dreams and memory. Antipody explore the inner landscapes that people carry within themselves: distant desires, fears, forgotten emotions and the constant search for connection. Guided by live music and visual imagery, we are drawn towards a place that seems both familiar and unattainable, towards a world that exists yet recedes with every step we take towards it.

Founded in Italy in 2007, Dromosofista combines popular theatre traditions, puppetry, live music and poetic visual storytelling, drawing inspiration from street performances, family theatre heritage and Mediterranean travelling theatre cultures.
