A puppet show dedicated to celebrating exceptional doctors, anatomists and healers. The performance, which lies somewhere between puppet theatre, a visual installation and a theatrical anatomy lesson, reveals the human body as both a mystery and a taboo. A solitary animator (who is also a pathologist) dissects and brings to life a strange world of objects, fragments, remains and inanimate forms resting on a wooden table, which resembles both a display case and a coffin.
Inspired by the tradition of vanitas, the performance reflects on transience, the fragility of the body, and humanity’s endless fascination with what lies hidden beneath the skin. Entering the body becomes an act of transgression, a disruption of the cosmic order that connects the microcosm and the macrocosm.
