Birakolore enters a poetic world where nature is slowly reclaiming spaces buried beneath concrete and urban routine. The performance, led by an elderly couple from a simpler rural world, unfolds as a gentle parade of colours, feelings, memories and rediscovered connections with the natural world.
Through tenderness, humour and visual imagery, the performance reflects on humanity’s increasingly distant relationship with the environment, whilst reminding us of what once existed beneath our feet. Small gestures, forgotten rhythms and everyday acts of care gradually become acts of resistance against speed, alienation and disconnection. At its core, Birakolore is a celebration of simplicity, coexistence and intergenerational wisdom. It encourages us to rediscover wonder in everyday life, nurtures fragile new beginnings and reconnects us with the cycles of nature that continue to shape our collective memory and possible futures.
