Modri / Blue

Blue is a sharp and fragmented theatrical mosaic that, through a series of rapid, interconnected sketches, explores police power, violence, fear and vulnerability. The central figures are police officers, but the performance gradually transcends institutional roles to reveal profound human questions about authority, control, exhaustion and identity.

Some characters reappear in several scenes, whilst others appear only briefly; they create a shifting landscape of encounters, confessions, threats, silences and moments of unexpected tenderness. With poetic and confrontational language, the performance Modri explores the fragile boundary between protection and oppression, obedience and responsibility. Rather than presenting a single narrative or a clear political statement, it constructs a disturbing portrait of contemporary society and its systems of control. Batons, shields, helmets, handcuffs and tear gas become symbolic objects, laden with emotional and moral weight. The police uniform is transformed into armour and a burden.

Founded by Evgenia Tsichlia and Thanos Sioris, Hop Signor creates poetic, non verbal puppet theatre using minimal set design, movement, sound and light to tell intimate, humorous and emotionally raw stories inspired by people and places.
