With humour, ingenuity and delightful improvisation, the performance transforms everyday household objects into an epic space adventure inspired by the history of space exploration. Somewhere between low-budget science fiction and handcrafted theatrical magic, Star Show invites us to imagine the impossible in the simplest way.
On the eve of commercial space tourism and fantasies of interplanetary travel, the performance playfully rekindles humanity’s fascination with the unknown. Using tiles, objects, miniature props and live manipulation, the performance recreates rocket launches, lunar missions and encounters with the vastness of space.
The performance celebrates the creativity of object theatre, whilst simultaneously parodying technological ambitions and heroic tales of conquest. With wit, precision and inventive stagecraft, it reminds us that imagination is perhaps humanity’s greatest driving force for exploration.
