The program for the 2026/27 season
On the Grand stage of the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, director Uroš Korenčan, artistic director Martina Maurič Lazar and the directors of the performances presented the program for the 2026/27 season. Seven new performances will invite visitors to worlds connected by the movement of time and reflection on goodness.
Ferdinand the Bull, directed by Anja Mejač, Pinocchio, directed by Jan Zakonjšek, Little Sleepy Star, directed by Matjaž Loboda (a refreshed play by Jože Pengov from 1955) will stir up memories, questions of compassion, heartbeats and efforts to live the truth as important ethical guidelines for growing up. The Shadow, directed by Matjaž Farič, The Lighthouse story directed by Jelena Sitar Cvetko and How Mr. and Mrs. made up directed by Alenka Marinič and Justin Durel will emphasize the importance of living with mystery, foreboding and difference. The season will conclude with the performance IN TE RES zanima, a duet between dancer Leja Jurišič and puppeteer Gašper Malnar, who will question the many manifestos of connecting movement and puppetry in practice.
The repertoire of the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre also includes 46 plays from previous seasons. The new season’s program and the selection of repetitions are presented in detail in the program booklet, which is available at Ljubljana Puppet Theatre bookshop.
