The World Tethers is a contemporary visual-dance performance that explores emotional overload, inner fragmentation and the physical consequences of living in a world saturated with information, anxiety and constant stimulation.
Created by choreographer and performer Anamaria Bagarić in collaboration with musician Ida Hiršenfelder, the performance examines how external pressures become embedded in the body. Movement and sound gradually reveal an intense inner landscape shaped by thoughts, memories, exhaustion, vulnerability and unanswered questions. Inspired by the philosophy of butoh dance, the work focuses primarily on the back as a symbolic threshold between the inner and outer worlds. The body becomes a site of resistance, seeking authenticity and presence in a reality that moves faster than human perception can fully process. Balancing fragility and physical intensity, the performance reflects on loneliness, empathy, identity, privilege and emotional numbness in an increasingly unstable contemporary world.
