Transport: Odhod / Transport: Departure
Transport: Departure explores the consequences of unchecked development and humanity’s increasingly fragile relationship with the natural world. The performance reflects on environmental collapse, unsustainable urban sprawl and the growing imbalance between economic progress and ecological responsibility.
The performance focuses on floods, droughts, fires and growing environmental instability, whilst also addressing the political and economic decisions that exacerbate these crises. Ill-considered infrastructure development, prioritising profit over sustainability and the destruction of biodiversity are gradually revealing a world approaching ecological exhaustion.
At the heart of the performance lies the idea of departure itself: a symbolic departure from destructive habits, systems and ways of thinking. Rather than offering simple solutions, the performance explores how individual choices intertwine with broader political and economic structures, and what kind of future remains possible if humanity continues to ignore the limits of the natural world.

Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana is Slovenia’s leading puppet theatre, combining a tradition spanning more than 70 years with contemporary performance practices. In addition to productions for all generations and the festival LUTKE, it also safeguards Slovenia’s puppet heritage through the Museum of Puppetry at Ljubljana Castle.
